TIPO modifies the publication description with respect to EU
EU(European Union) announced that the updated EU Trade Mark Regulation (modified on December 24, 2015) will be valid on March 23, 2016, by the time OHIM(Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market) will be renamed as EUIPO(European Union Intellectual Property Office.)
As we know, this organization is in charge of the associate affairs of EU district in both Trademark and design patents fields. Therefore all of Taiwan’s Design Patent Publications with European Union District Priority Date will be changed from OHIM to EUIPO。
Reacting to the modification of EU Trade Mark Regulation, TIPO (Taiwan Intellectual Property Office), from the date of March 23, 2016, will register all of the Design Patent Publications with European Union District Priority Date as EUIPO.
